Somebody put it in an oven at around 500 degrees. It went in purple amethyst and came out mint green, and then it got a new name on the label.

That is not a scam. It is an open treatment the trade does every day and most shops simply never mention.

Aries, you keep looking for a version of yourself that requires no more work, and there is not one.

You were fast as a kid and somebody made that your whole name.

So the flat middle of anything now feels like proof you are losing it. You have left good things at month four because the noise died down. Nobody was watching the slow part.

Look at the green. It is pale and completely even, the same mint right the way through, with no darker patches anywhere.

That evenness is the tell. Nearly all of it was purple amethyst until it went in an oven at around 500 degrees.

There is no such thing as green amethyst. Amethyst is purple by definition, and the moment it turns green in an oven it is a different stone with a different name.

It did not come out of the ground like this. It was purple, and 500 degrees made it into something easier to sell.

Libra, being agreeable in every light is a full time job and nobody is paying you for it.

In that house one person's mood set the weather, so you learned to give the answer that kept the room level instead of the one that was true. It worked. That is why you never stopped.

Now a friend asks something small and you check their face before you check yourself. There is a real preference in there. It has not been asked for in years.

Say the purple version once.

So the thing that made it green is also the thing that made it fragile. Nobody at the counter tends to mention that part.

Sagittarius, you went through something at high heat and came out an easier colour, and people prefer you like this.

Somebody spent your childhood narrating what would go wrong, in detail, before you had asked. Care showed up shaped like a fence, and you learned to climb every fence you saw.

You have gone anyway, nearly always, and two or three of those cost you people you would have back. Being told to be careful still sounds like being told to be small.

Not every warning is a fence. This one is a windowsill.

The purple took an age. Iron in quartz, worked on slowly by the faint radiation in the rock around it, with nothing to show for a very long stretch of time.

An oven undid all of that in a day, and the market preferred the result.

Capricorn, somebody sped you up once and you have never let yourself slow back down.

You handled the enormous year and you can list exactly what got done. That list is the only place you have ever let yourself look.

What you cannot do is credit the Tuesdays where you got up and were decent. Those are the ones that actually held the whole thing together, and they produced nothing you could show anybody.

The slow part is what made the colour.

The oven is not a secret. Dealers heat Montezuma amethyst to around 500 degrees, the iron in it changes, and the stone comes out mint green.

The only dishonest part is the label. Green amethyst sells and heated amethyst does not, so the shop says the first one.

Aquarius, you have never once lied about yourself, and you have let a wrong label stand for years.

You were the odd one in that house and somebody made a running joke of it. You laughed along, because laughing along was cheaper than arguing.

After a while the joke became how you introduce yourself.

Now you get to a table and put the strange version out first. That way nobody else has to do it for you. It reads as confidence.

Who taught you that joke?

Put it on a white sheet of paper. The mint is the same everywhere, no zoning, no darker corners, nothing left of where the purple used to be strongest.

That is the giveaway. Around 500 degrees in a kiln, and the colour it made for itself was swapped for one that sells better.
