If you are in crisis
What the app does when a message suggests self-harm, and where to reach a person.
The short version
If you say something that suggests you are thinking about hurting yourself, the Oracle stops being the Oracle. No transit, no card, no stone, no follow-up questions, no prompts to keep talking.
What you get instead
Plain language, and the numbers below. The reply does not try to interpret what you said, does not offer a reading, and does not ask you anything to keep the conversation going.
In the United States
988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Call or text 988, any hour. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department.
Outside the United States
findahelpline.com lists a staffed line for most countries. If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
After that
You can keep using the app normally. There is no lock-out, no flag on your account you have to clear, and nothing about it is used to sell you anything. Nothing in that exchange is ever used as an advertising or engagement signal.
What the Oracle is
Software. It cannot check on you, it cannot call anyone for you, and it will say so plainly if you ask whether it is a person. It is not a counsellor and it is not a substitute for one.
